Deheng Law Firm: The First Listed Law Firm In China
June 29th, 2015, the Qingdao Equity Exchange approved the application of Shandong Deheng Law Firm LLP for listing on the over the counter (OTC) market, following the firm’s compliance with the admissions criteria and regulatory standards required for listing. On July 3rd, 2015, Deheng will formally be the first listed law firm in the People’s Republic of China and the third listed law firm globally.
Shandong Deheng Law Firm was founded in December 1993. Benefiting from its pursuit for excellence and continuous innovation over the past 20 years, Deheng has accomplished numerous outstanding achievements, awards and honors domestically and in overseas markets, becoming one of the top law firms with comprehensive strength in China and throughout Asia.
In the offering, the firm aims to raise 60 million RMB through this means of equities trading. Deheng plans to invest this new capital in its mid-to long-term strategy to establish more diverse domestic branches and to expand further into new overseas markets. Whilst exploring the O2O legal services model, expanding new channels for online legal services and through expansion, Deheng aims to strengthen the comprehensive competition of the firm and to ensure stakeholders’ interests. Although the upcoming listing is an inside offering, available solely to the firm’s partners and lawyers, this move may stimulate and lead a wave of law firms, accounting firms and other intermediary organizations in China to follow suit.
