From July 29th to 30th Beijing DHH Law Firm and Shandong Deheng Law Firm, under Deheng Law Group, simultaneously published “Announcement of Representing Fishermen without Charge to Claim for Losses Caused by Bohai Oil Spill Pollution”, and “Pro Bono Advertisements and Publicity Outline for Safeguarding Rights in Bohai Oil Spill Pollution by ConocoPhillips China”.
Meanwhile, Mr. Luan Shaohu, a well-known, leading figure in China’s legal circle, bearing the titles of National Excellence Lawyer and Chairman of the Partners’ Meeting of Deheng Law Group, forwarded the Announcement and the Publicity Outline via Sina micro-blogging on July 29th. There he expressed his determination to help the fishermen who have suffered losses in the Bohai oil spill accident, and said if Chinese courts refuse to try the case, Deheng will file the suits in the U.S. in the pursuit of justice, no matter how long it will take. He also appealed to the President of the Supreme People’s Court to order Tianjin Maritime Court and Qingdao Maritime Court to try the cases involving compensation for losses in Bohai Penglai 19-3 oilfield oil spill accident, so as to safeguard national judicial sovereignty and the fishermen’s livelihood.
