Symposium of Criminal Committee of ACLA Held at Beijing DHH Law Firm
On September 9 a Symposium was held by the Criminal Committee of ACLA at Beijing DHH Law Firm, to collect suggestions for the legislation of the ninth Criminal Law Amendments. The Symposium was presided over by Director Tian Wenchang of the Criminal Committee. Other Committee members included Liu Wenyuan, Qian Lieyang, Zhang Yansheng, Xu Lanting, Luan Shaohu, Jiao Peng, Shi Hongying, Qan Daqiang and Mao Hongtao. The magazines “Fangyuan Magazine” and “Chinese Lawyer” had representatives attending the Symposium.
Committee Members put forward amendment suggestions for crimes concerning gangland, illegal business operations, misstating registered capital, feigned capital contribution, flight of capital contribution and contractual fraud. They advanced suggestions for regulating crimes involving affray, taking bribes by taking advantage of specific relations or accepting property via the method of trading at prices significantly lower than market prices. They also proposed new legislation on offences involving marine pollution, litigation fraud, intentional destruction of private house property and infringing citizens’ privacy.
