On October 24, 2020, the 2020 Annual Meeting of the International Economic Law Research Association of the Chinese Law Society and the 2nd China (Hainan) Free Trade Port High-end Forum were successfully held in Haikou, Hainan. This annual conference and forum is hosted by the International Economic Law Research Association of the Chinese Law Society and the Hainan Law Society, and organized by the Hainan Vocational College of Political Science and Law, the International Economic and Trade Law Research Society of the Hainan Law Society, and the Journal of Nanhai Law.
The theme of the forum is "Reform of the International Governance System and Innovation of the Rule of Law in Free Trade Ports", centering on "Legal Construction of Free Trade Ports and Free Trade Zones", "Frontier Issues of International Economic Law", "International Financial Law", and "International Dispute Settlement" , "Public Crisis and International Economic Law Response" and other 5 topics to conduct in-depth discussions. Many famous professors, experts, scholars and researchers from domestic universities participated in this conference.
The opening ceremony of the forum was presided by Professor Zhu Mianmao, Vice Dean of Hainan Vocational College of Political Science and Law. Professor Tong Guangzheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan Vocational College of Political Science and Law, Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of Hainan Provincial Committee, Secretary-General, Executive Vice President of the Provincial Law Society Liu Cheng, President of the International Economic Law Research Association of the Chinese Law Society, Shen Sibao, Vice President of the Chinese Law Society, Huang Jin, former president of China University of Political Science and Law, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
The five topics of the conference were led by Professor Che Pizhao of Tsinghua University Law School, Vice President of the International Economic Law Research Association of the Chinese Law Society, Deng Ruiping, Professor of Southwest University Law School, and Vice President of the International Economic Law Research Society of China Law Society, and Vice President of Liaoning University President and Vice President of the International Economic Law Research Society of the Chinese Law Society Yang Song, Professor of the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics, Vice President of the International Economic Law Research Society of the Chinese Law Society, Wang Jun, Professor of Peking University Law School, and International Economic Law of the Chinese Law Society Shao Jingchun, vice chairman of the research society, presided over the meeting. The keynote speaker jointly studied the construction of free trade ports and the development of international economic rule of law from multiple angles, and opened up development space and contributed development ideas for our country's free trade port and international economic rule of law.
Lawyer Chen Yanhong, deputy director of Beijing DHH Law Firm, participated in this conference and analyzed the topic of "Chinese Progressive Digital Currency Development: Status Quo, System Architecture, Operation Mechanism and Governance Path Analysis" in the "International Financial Law" panel discussion. A series of top digital currency development profiles, system architectures, operating mechanisms and governance paths are presented, and it is proposed that while actively embracing changes and adapting to the development needs of the digital age, efforts should be made to improve the strategic layout of the RMB in the international monetary and financial system. Sharing unique insights on the status quo of Hainan Self-Trade Port construction.
Lawyer Chen Yanhong wrote a paper entitled "Digital Currency of the Central Bank of China: System, Organization, Influencing Mechanism and Governance Path", which was also awarded the Outstanding Paper Award of the Society of International Economic and Trade Law of China.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Ding Ding, Vice President and Secretary General of the Society of International Economic Law of China, and Yang Song, Vice President of the Society of International Economic Law of China, delivered a closing speech, which put a successful end to the meeting.
