On February 22, 2018, the lawyers of Shandong Deheng Law Firm were invited to the third Sino-Russian Business Forum in St. Petersburg, which was jointly held by Sino-Russian Business Center, the municipal government of St. Petersburg and Chinese Consulate in St. Petersburg. The chairman of the partners’ meeting of Deheng Law Group Luan Shaohu made a keynote speech about the legal issues of Sino-Russian trade at the forum, and deeply analyzed the importance of laws and regulations for Sino-Russian trade and communication. He stated “it is quite vital that Russian lawyers and Chinese lawyers cooperate to create soft environment of attracting and protecting investment for bilateral investment. Huge commercial opportunities are lying between China and Russia. However, corresponding potential issues of investment security and benefit safeguard will occur, some of them can be solved through communication between the two governments, but some other issues cannot, therefor, there may be a snake in the grass. For the situation, lawyers, as the professionals of preventing and solving issues, will play their important roles. Nevertheless, both China Law and Russia Law cover such comprehensive fields that only unilateral lawyers or firms are not able to deal with, moreover, there can also be issues of clients’ confidence and language. Hence, the cooperation between Chinese lawyers and Russian lawyers is urgently needed, and only through this way can Sino-Russian trade and friendship develop healthily and sustainably.”
