Two Deheng Cases Selected in 2012 Typical IP Cases Published by SPC
Upon the approach of the 13th World Intellectual Property Day the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) published “the Situation of IP Judicial Protection by Chinese Courts” White Paper which released “the First 10 Major IP Judicial Protection Cases 2012” , “the First 50 Typical IP Cases”, and “the First 10 Innovative IP Judicial Protection Cases2012” Two cases handled by Deheng lawyers were selected in “the First 10 Innovative IP Judicial Protection Cases 2012” and “the First 50 Typical IP Cases” respectively.
The first is the copyright dispute case represented by lawyer Wang Jun (Shandong Provincial Higher People’s Court Civil Judgment [2012] No. 33), the Oceanography Institute of the Chinese Academy of Science and Zheng Shouyi V. Liu Junqian, Laizhou Wanlida Stone Industry Ltd. and Yantan Environmental Arts Management Office. The Second is the case handled by lawyer Yao Kefeng, involving the unauthorized use of a corporate name and false propaganda (Tianjin Higher People’s Court Civil Judgment [2012] No. 0016), Tianjin Niren Zhang Painting and Molding Old Workshop, Zhang Yu V. Chen Yiqian, Ningxia Yaguan Collection Culture Institute and Beijing Tianying Jiuzhou Network Technology Ltd.
The first abovementioned case, and the case of Pin Doll handled by lawyer Hu Xianming, involving unfair competition of internet sales, were also selected in the Shandong Provincial Higher Court’s “Top 10 IP Cases 2012”.
